I played the trumpet for a month in fourth grade. (You thought that would be the whole page didn't you) I then realized that wind and asthma do not mix. In 7th grade, I decided to sign up for band as a percussionist (drums, cymbals, mallets, etc) and it was the best choice of my life.

Band has shaped so much of my personality. (sorry anyone who had to hear my tapping in class) I do not know who I would have been if I never took that class.

What Do I Play?

I play mallet percussion. It is a pitched percussion instrument. (Like a oversized xylophone or piano with wooden bars) I started off playing auxiliary (traingles, cymbals, etc) before getting forced onto mallets, and I loved it and can not go back.

2026 "Brick by Brick" Headcam

I have been in the Barnegat Marching Band for four years (since 8th Grade) and it has taught me so much. It has helped shaped me into the person I have become today. I also hold a leadership position as the Front Ensemble (pit) section leader.
