Reflection
My years at MATES have transformed me in so many ways. The skills that I have learned, from scientific writing to coding, will carry me through my future endevors and career. I would have not gotton the same enrichment had I gone to a different high school, and it has prepared me for the future. I did not know how to code till a year ago (crazy consideing how much of my life it occupies now), and MATES is where I learned it. My independent research has given me such a zeal for life that I cannot explain. The network I have created with it is crazy to think about it. All of my experience volunteering and holding leadership roles prepare me for future jobs and internships. As much as I love the MATES grind, I would have never have made it if it were not for my hobbies, side-quests, and all the goofing off my friends and I do. I do not regret my choices.
